We’re proud to announce that we’ve been shortlisted for a British Insurance Award that celebrates newcomers in the sector who are making a difference to how it serves insurance customers.
We’re less than five years into our journey bringing our powerful UK property data to insurers, lenders and property investors & service providers – providing a single source of truth that’s helping them make faster, smarter decisions.
In that time we’ve gained traction with major insurance brands, successfully challenged incumbent providers, and transformed how our clients price, predict and innovate.
Founded by Jon Francis, a former data scientist on Google’s innovation team, Chimnie carries out 30 million virtual property assessments each month, using AI-driven analysis, satellite imagery and advanced modelling, and inspecting hundreds of fragmented open and private sources - from Land Registry records to environmental archives. Together with our feedback loop from our consumer portal , it means we can continuously update our data to reflect the very latest market changes, and provide the most accurate information to our clients.
Jon says:
“Chimnie set out to make UK property data fairer and more transparent for consumers. We saw a clear need to do the same for businesses – and the speed at which we’ve grown is testament to how much insurance partners value our data, insights, and service.
We pride ourselves on being part of their team, and embedding solutions that help them do things like assess property risk and fraud potential, improve underwriting efficiency and loss ratio performance, and streamline quote and claims workflows.
Those examples and endorsements really helped showcase our work to the judges, and we’re delighted be recognised as a finalist in the British Insurance Awards. It’s very much our ‘coming-of-age’ moment as an insurance data partner, and I’m looking forward to celebrating that at the Royal Albert Hall in July.”
